Especially the ones who are willfully disinterested in the word 'no' (Which would be all of them.)
MiniMonster just tipped over my coffee this morning, his arm reach just keeps on getting longer. X_@ Usually just in time for me to have gotten used to his last span of reach. It's a conspiracy I'm pretty sure! Fortunately it was in a travel mug, so not as much spilled as it could have, but it was still a bit of a mess, and I trucked him off to his crib. He doesn't seem to be considering that too much punishment, but I think he's going down for the morning nap judging by the chatter.
He's getting bolder and bolder about going for short strolls, and last night he walked half way across the living room to me, on his own initiative, before deciding that it would be way faster to crawl. He'll even break away from things and go walk over to his trucks now, which is a definite step in the direction of free-walking more regularly, since the trucks can't catch him or give him a hand.
I'm looking forward to this and fearing it in equal measure I admit! ^_^
We also got him a pair of shoes that actually fit yesterday. A little pair of Garanimals sneakers with velcro straps and race cars on the side. ((He picked))
My mother is still convinced that he's only picking things because they're on his dominant side, but I've seen him reach across to his NON dominant side and pick things before, so poo on that. It's pretty obvious by any measure that just because he's 13 months old doesn't mean he doesn't have his own opinion. Heck, he demonstrated that quite neatly by refusing to try more than two drops of Hi-C. ((They didn't have juice at the place my mom and I went for lunch.))
I can't say I blame him though, the punch Hi-C tasted horrible, it had a gross medicinal taste, and I can't imagine anyone voluntarily drinking it. *shudder*
He did enjoy the rest of the meal though, so that was a plus.
