Lemon Cake for the Actor

So Grandpa P. Came over today, as well as one of my half brothers. It was a nice visit. My half brother lives a long shot away, so he doesn't come to our neck of the woods terribly often. It might have been slightly more pleasant though if Grandpa P. hadn't decided the entire affair was best suited to demonstrating his acting and hypochondria.

... I'm just not going to get into it. But it was really an incredible show. Awards have been given out for less. ((Also yes: I do see the man regularly, it really really was an act. Yes I'm sure.))

Anyway... it was nice other than the bad Shakespearean Drama, since evidently it was totally not fair that they drive forty five minutes to see Mini Monster and then have Mini Monster steal the stage... *cough* Heaven forbid.

We had something to drink and I served up some slices of Lemon Cake I made this morning. I was, in fact, pretty damn proud of that lemon cake. It's one of the first cakes I think I've ever iced that didn't fall apart. Partially due to me taking a tip and putting the damn thing in the fridge/freezer to get cold before I started trying to ice it.

Big day for cleaning too, so I'm feeling fairly accomplished all in all. I've just had my fill of bad acting for a little while. So the next person who staggers onto my personal stage throwing their arms up dramatically and weeping about the trouble they've seen... will probably get their slice of lemon cake stuffed in their ear.

Rebel without a Bottle

So Mini got some new clothes this weekend, since he persists in getting bigger ;) And because we needed some warmer clothing for the approaching fall.
One of these was an amusing little set with skateboards and the logo "Born 2 Skate". This included a hoodie. ((Here he is being the Rebel without a Bottle. He pulled up his collar himself and it kinda reminded me a little of James Dean. XD

Well. James Dean in a little black and red hoodie sweatshirt. Anyway it was cute. This was followed by me pulling up his hood to tease him. That's when we found out the hoodie had some cute details I hadn't seen at the store....

So Yeah. Good times. XD
